Location

Heritance Tea Factory indeed speaks for its name while offering you the genuine atmosphere of residing in an original tea factory 6300 feet above sea level in a 25 acre tea estate in the cool climes of Nuwara Eliya. Located a short drive away from the town centre of Nuwara Eliya, the hotel is approximately 163km from Colombo. Transport options to the town are widely available while the latest addition being the sea plane which has a landing dock on Gregory's Lake.


ACCOMMODATION

Offering guests the ambience of a bygone colonial era, Heritance Tea Factory consists of Superior, Premium, Semi Suite, Flower Dew Suite and Executive Floor Deluxe guestrooms. The hotel altogether consists of 57 lavish colonial style rooms with the addition of beautiful views of the surroundings. All guestrooms include rain showers and bathtubs with hot water. Basic room amenities include heating facilities, television with satellite and local channels, a minibar, coffee and tea making facilities and a gift basket with fruits, biscuits, chocolates etc. All rooms are wheel chair accessible.


Facilities

The main restaurant of Heritance Tea Factorywhich is the Kenmare Restaurant can seat 120 people at one time and offers fine views of the surroundings. A comprehensive buffet of western and eastern cuisine is served for breakfast, lunch and dinner. A unique experience at the hotel is the Railway Carriage Restaurant where you can discuss your personal culinary preferences with the chef with a range of possibilities. Dinner time is always a fascination when dining in TCK 6685. Drinks are served at the Hethersett Main Bar while room service is available round the clock.

Hotel facilities include safety deposit box, tour desk, spa facilities, Wi-Fi, concierge services, foreign currency exchange, library, drivers quarters, doctor on call, 24hour room service, laundry facilities, porter services, high chairs for kids, children's menus and wheel chair accessibility. Tourists can also enjoy horseback rides and boat rides along Gregory's Lake.

Our buffets in the Kenmare Restaurant will give you the opportunity to try a wide range of Sri Lankan food, as well as international dishes. Or you can opt for our à la carte menus of international dishes or fine-dining Heritance cuisine and tea-themed menus.

Bar

You won’t be surprised to learn that at Heritance Tea Factory there is a strong tea theme to many of our drinks. As well as the Goatfell Bar, which offers more than 20 different types of tea, you can try a tea mocktail. How about a Hethersett Fog – a blend of tea, lime juice, angostura bitters and lemonade, topped with a slice of lime and tea leaves? Of course, we also stock a wide range of international and local brands of beer, wine and spirits. Lion and Three Coins lager are made in Sri Lanka, while arrack is the local spirit, distilled from coconut juice. Every full moon day of the month is declared a Buddhist poya holiday. Sale of liquor is prohibited on this day. We will post advance notices around the hotel when this occurs.
